NABION
Or
Instructions to the Prophets
Chapter
1
THE words of the prophet, the son of Kathryn: that thou mayest know the divine nature, that thou mayest array thyself for the coming battle, for the LORD is a mighty warrior and an everlasting hero.
To know the divine nature, to possess the heart of God, to think the thoughts of God after him must thou, O prophet, thy calling be. Prophet must thou be. Prophet be thou certain:
A prophet knoweth the will of God; when he speaketh, it is the word of God. Therefore, my son, take thou up the divine nature, that thou mayest wage the battle and be in the LORD’s quiver.
Hearken unto the LORD, to know his will and to direct feet upon the paths of righteousness; that thy mouth shall speak forth of his bounty; that wealth shall flow from thy lips, for the LORD is great and his ways are peace, happiness, and shall never cease.
The ways of the LORD are as a circle wherein there is no detection of beginning or end. There is no command of the LORD which depriveth. There is no act of his which leaveth empty. There is no beginning and there is no end with the LORD.
He is.
To understand the divine nature is the purpose of life and the reason for all things. Therefore, my son, hearken: Our father Adam and mother Eve knew nought of God. He was a pleasant soul, a kindly voice, an ever-present parent.
When they did sin, then they knew the wrath of God. When he slew the animals and clothed them, they knew his mercy. When he ejected them from paradise, they understood the holiness of God.
Be attentive and careful! Listen to these words— for all that hath been hath been to a purpose: that man should not be ignorant of God. For of what greater things can a man learn, and unto what higher purpose can he enquire, but to know of the will and nature of the Almighty?
Chapter
2
THE beginning of the word of the LORD is prayer, and a heart inclined toward the LORD shall understand.
The beginning of pray is desire. If thou desirest not, pray thou not.
The LORD shall not hear the words of habit, and the words of compulsion shall not come before him.
Pray that thou mayest have the spirit of God; that it may be said of thee by God: ‘Thy heart was after mine own heart;’ ‘Thy spirit after mine own spirit;’ ‘Thy thoughts sought mine own.’ The LORD shall cover thy sins, and shall not impute sin unto thee.
No man can take prayer from thee, nor rob thee of petition before the LORD of hosts.
Things are apportioned unto thee by the LORD; pray not for gain.
Pray thou for his spirit, and he shall break in the windows of thy soul and shall fill thine house to overflowing.
The LORD knoweth a matter from the beginning to its end. Therefore incline thine understanding to Moses and the prophets. Lust after the words of the LORD to do them.
Desire them as the honeycomb, for they are sweet and satisfying. They brighten the eyes and lighten the soul.
By his words thou shalt be taught his will, and by his will thou shalt speak his words.
Understand the divine nature that thou mayest understand the ways of the LORD, and be ready to hearken to his call. As thou knowest thine own image, as thou knowest the ways of thine own brother, father or mother, so know the nature of GOD; that thou mayest know what he shall and shall not do.
Meditate on the LORD. Not as the heathen think. Empty not thy mind and recite vain babble. But think heavily upon the LORD and what he hath done. Consider all his doings as they have been preserved for thee in the scriptures of truth.
Fill thy soul with his image and with the images of his mighty acts and deeds. Fill thy mind’s eye with all his wonders.
See all the finest things in life: peace, charity, graciousness, unpretentiousness and circumspection, love, forbearance, patience, and any other attribute that edifieth: creativity, ingenuity, leadership and majesty. Know these are examples of the nature of God.
Chapter
3
BEHOLD, my son, justice is the religion of God himself. There is no false weight before him. Nor doth he judge from whim. He is all things ideal and pure, and whatsoever is enduring, noble and honourable, it is of the LORD.
Consider the ways of a king, how he regardeth not his subjects different one from another, for all are subject to him and all shall stand equal before him.
Power need not impress nor be impressed. So are the ways of the LORD. He accepteth no man’s person, and with no one is he impressed. But he delighteth in those that do right, that hearken unto him and heed his ways out of a right heart.
A fondling throng doth he not crave, nor a wailing display appreciate. But a gentle head against his bosom, a solemn thanksgiving, a sincere heart shall receive an outstretch of his wings.
He catereth not to a crowd, nor performeth in the streets. He rideth high amongst his people, and giveth justice unto all mankind. He condescendeth to the low, and edifieth the meek.
Hearken unto a deep matter. There is no command of the LORD which hath ever caused want. To love God is to love your fellow man and his creation at the same time. No man loveth God and hateth what he hath made.
To love God is to keep to justice and deprive no man. To follow the laws of the LORD is not an uneven devotion. Piety of affliction is not from the LORD, nor is his blessing necessarily in wealth.
To love God is to do his ways from a right heart; to understand that creation is the Almighty’s; and to honour the word of the LORD is to find no bottom.
For as the LORD generateth life within himself, so do his ways not meet an end. They do not diminish or fade. The way of the LORD is not to draw out life but to give it, nourish it and continue to sustain it.
But the ways of man, the nature of flesh, is to draw and drain out; to heap unto oneself at the expense of others. Man giveth in order to get. Man giveth in order to control. Man doth consider the reward before he giveth, and doth ponder what shall be the leverage of it in a deal to come.
Selfishness is a sore, and selfishness empowered is evil.
Good goeth forth and edifieth for the benefit of all. Selfishness heapeth to itself, and when it hath the power, lo, there is it evil. If thy neighbour be selfish, it shall cause thee bother. But if that neighbour hath power over thee, then thou shalt see the ways and end of evil. Then shalt thou consider the right ways of the LORD.
When hath the LORD destroyed the righteous? When hath he played with his creation as a wanton? See evil amongst thy world? Then do not blame the LORD. For thou, O man, art put here to be tested. Thou art not here to put God to the test. See evil and vanquish it. See an uneven scale and dash it to pieces.
Keep to the ways of the LORD. Before thou judgest on a matter, incline thine heart unto the ways of the LORD, to judge fairly for the benefit of all.
Meditate on his ways. Think heavily on what he hath done, all his doings, and consider then what is the LORD’s will. When hath he fled, or when hath he compromised and given place unto evil?
Behold, I have seen an evil thing, and a sore abomination: a man depriveth his family in claim of serving the LORD.
Chapter
4
KNOWLEDGE is an accumulation of facts, but wisdom is to know how to use them. Wisdom cometh from the LORD. He deligheth in its application. To fear the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but to love God is the beginning of wisdom.
Honour God and fear his reproof, and he shall pad his hand. His displeasure shall not wax great against thee. Better to have his finger shaken at thee than to feel a stripe.
The LORD punisheth not ignorance, but forebeareth and teacheth. Nor doth the LORD place stripes on a man for an accident. But if a child doeth an act intentionally, doth not the father punish? So then shall the LORD chastise those who willfully break his laws and pollute his ways.
Do not equate presuming with thinking. Nor in thine own imagination commit the abomination of desolation and imagine God to be as thou dost wish him to be. He conformeth not to a time, nor can a season of thought make him to change.
The LORD is.
BEING he is BEING.
He changeth not.
See the idols and religions of mankind. See their precepts and their laws. They usurp and they use. They placate fear. They reveal they are scamps and squatters in the creation of the LORD.
But the LORD’s ways are those of the creator. As love findeth no bottom and meeteth with no end, so hath the LORD spoken for the benefit of his creation. So hath he ordered things that all may dwell in peace and surety, in equity and kindness.
There is nothing that a man can do for God, for the parent shall build up for the child, and not the child for the parent. Who then hath begotten God that he may lay up for the Almighty?
Chapter
5
MY son, behold a folly: the ignorant man doth worship the Book of Books; but the ways therein will he not do, nor doth he hearken unto the LORD’s words.
He seeth them in the light of his own counsel; and the fool justifieth his own traditions and those of his fathers.
But the LORD hath spoken, and he shall not relent. He declareth his ways from the beginning, and no man can hide them from a desiring heart.
Understand a truth, and a sore irony, my son: with time the liberal always become the establishment. A maverick pioneereth and becometh the cornerstone of a mighty edifice of tradition; the insurgent and heretic in a preverse time becometh the head of days of traditions. Even he who hath cried out from the street becometh a lord, and from a balcony he shall smite they who cry out.
A man obtaineth, yea, a time endureth, yet there shall be another that replaceth them, and declareth their right by virtue of possession. They justify their ways, and their season shall endure until another taketh it.
Another tradition declareth its rights, and saith: “So hath the LORD ordained.”
Behold, my son, be thou not impressed, nor believe thou that length of days or multitude of agreement justifieth any man’s ways.
But thou, my son, shalt meditate upon the word of the LORD; and if thou shalt understand the nature of He who created all things, small things shall not possess thee, nor passing ways declare thou the edicts of the LORD.
As a wind they pass before the LORD, but his ways shall endure forever. He judgeth by his knowledge, not by man’s ignorance. Therefore set thy path upon the beginning of the LORD and not on the beginning of thy season.
Make thou him the beginning and the end, and the substance there betwixt shall never wax old, tarnish, or fade.
For a prophet be thou must. And a prophet be thou certain. It is a fearful thing to declare the will of the LORD. But he giveth measure according to the need thereof.
Be pulled out by the hand, be beckoned by his call, or grabbed by the scruff of thy neck; but a prophet he will make of whom he will make.
Falter at thy task ahead? Thy courage fail within thee? Then look behind thee and see thine alternative: The LORD shall stand fast, and at his scowl thou shalt gladly face thy duties.
What a handsome lot thou hast been given! that thou mayest understand, and that thou mayest go do according to the ways of the LORD; that thou shalt understand he who is beauty beyond compare.
Chapter
6
KNOW of a certainty, and speak thou bold, that God commanded not the blood of bulls and goats, nor did he instruct in any way in the sacrifice of the flesh of animals.
He condescendeth; he looketh upon the heart of him who offered; a stony heart he accepteth not, but upon a contrite and penitent heart he regardeth and looketh with favour.
What place then hath the blood of bulls and goats? And wherein can be found expiation in their flesh?
Behold, the Gentiles seek a sacrifice, and how their ears swell to hear a slaughter in Jerusalem; the fumes coming up from the burnt remnants of filthy animals do they think a pleasing offer to the LORD.
They delight in their ignorance, and wait upon the shoulder of Israel, there to be first to see the priests offer blood for a sign that their ignorance of the words of the LORD are knowledge.
They speak falsely, and they prophecy a lie in the name of the LORD.
Surely, my son, the LORD seeketh not the glory of man, nor can flesh purge the soul before him.
My son, so declare thou unto all Israel, and unto all peoples.
Chapter
7
INCLINE thine heart and hearken unto the word of the LORD, my son, for with thine ears thou shalt not hear him. But his ways shall burn in thine heart, and they shall enliven thy tongue.
Therefore pray, I say thou pray, my son, for his heart; and thou shalt be amazed at the beauty of thy speech. Fire shall come forth and devour the wicked and light the darkness, and all they about shall see and they shall hear the words of the LORD.
Pray, I say unto thee, pray, that thou mayest hear the words of the LORD and delight in his ways.
When thou seest the error of mankind, delight in the LORD’s reproof.
Behold a glory: the LORD shall tolerate error, but shall route out sin. His longsuffering is not idleness as after the manner of men. He instructeth and maketh wise from thine error; and as soon as it cometh about, the LORD is quick to correct, and covenanting before he should smite.
But, O ye foolish people, ye would have sacrifice. An easy thing it was to you than a pure heart and a tempered soul! And ye hearkened not unto the word of the LORD or unto his prophets, who rising early and afflicting you. And ye hearkened not.
Chapter
8
BUT thy people have not hearkened, and who hath inclined his heart unto the instruction of the LORD? In light discipline, they said ‘The LORD was not serious.’ In heavy, they declared ‘His hand is grievous. He punisheth the righteous without cause.’
Be not thou ignorant as they. Incline thine heart to love the LORD thy God with all that is within thee, that his discipline shall be sweet to thee, and that thine error shall be before thy face, lest thou deceivest thyself at the judgments of God, and knowest not what manner of times and seasons thou be in.
The LORD punisheth not the righteous, but layeth a whip upon the back of the foolish and self deceived. Therefore pray that thy sin is before thy face, so that thou sufferest only the spank of the LORD, and not prolong in ignorance until he bringeth the whip.
Turn quickly. Howl loudly at correction, and the LORD shall pat thy hind parts quickly and set thee again in haste upon his way, that thou proclaimest again unto his people, and unto all nations, the good will of the LORD.
But a false prophet perverteth the way of the LORD. He considereth pride. He considereth convenience. He considereth tradition. These are but the ways of man.
Silly mind, silly heart, declareth the LORD unto those who shall pat themselves for any good but shall blame God for the bad. Rather, O foolish man, praise God for the good and examine thyself for the bad, for terror cometh it not in vain.
Thou shalt not make God a party to thy corruption, and declare “It was the will of the LORD” because it happened.
But thou shalt answer for thine own sin. By man shall his blood be shed, saith the LORD. My son, know therefore that thou art placed here to be tested, not to test God.
Do the laws of the LORD and make no excuses if others should tell thee, “Those are not the ways anymore.”
Hearken unto his words to do, first with thine heart and he shall guide thy steps.
Thou shalt not corrupt thy way, but if thou shouldest falter thou shalt know thine error and thou shalt turn unto the LORD, and he shall abundantly pardon and make straight thy path.
Chapter
9
THOU art not called to graze, nor to serve tables, nor wait upon the words of men. Thou art not called to shame, but thou art called to honour.
Therefore, take ye up prophet, thou knight of God, the nature of God. Declare his doings amongst the nations, for righteous are his ways and glorious are his acts.
Make thy saber one of light. Go forth and fight the good fight, for thy God is with thee. He is thy hero and thy leader.
Aside his chariot are many fine warriors. Yea, valiant lads trace his wheels. He bringeth to the dust the wicked, and he elevateth the humble and oppressed. He cutteth the shackles from the hearts of men and conquereth the darkness. Night shall not fall upon his battles, nor shall he retreat.
He is the rush in thine heart, thou knight of God, he is thy youth returning to thee. Mount up for the LORD doth do battle. He sendeth forth his prophets as his knights.
Brag of him, ye prophets. Speak of him with a tongue of divine words, for the LORD doth do battle, and the LORD doth send ye on adventures.
Take ye up, take ye up, take ye up prophet, thou knight of God, take unto thee a rough coloured tunic folded diagonally over the front and along the breast according to the customs of thy fathers. From the ankle to the neck make it, from the wrist make the sleeve.
Fringe it according to the ancient gowns. Over this fold a talis of blue and white around thy neck and let its tassels hang down past thy knees. Pocket it within, along the stripes, that they may face out when it is robed upon thy neck and upon thine head. Let thy leather girdle hold it in place. Upon thy girdle burn “Holiness unto the LORD.” A belt over thy leather girdle to hold all in place. But upon thine head, my Nabi ha-Rosh, a band. Upon it burn ‘The LORD’s.”
Over thy tunic a dark cloak, with sleeves and hood.
Take ye up that Israel shall know there are prophets again, for the LORD doth do battle. Thy tongue shall be as armies and the words of the LORD shall pierce the wicked. Thou shalt not be preyed upon. But thou shalt be cunning.
Unto thee I raise up 6 prophets and 7 mighty men. Behold, I give thee ------- (name expurgated on the web) as thy true brother. Is he not known as Robert amongst the nations? And ------ of David, my kantor. Shall there not be --------- of the braid, known as --------? ------- called Motl; ------- the wild Hasid, and --------- of the fair hair and healthy appetite.
As the knights of God shall ye herald all things good and just from the LORD. Ye shall declare his fury and his tender mercies.
Mount up and rejoice, for thy God hath no age. He is thy youth and health to thy heart. He is the rush of joy, the exultation in thy bosom. He doth resurrect the dead and make them young again. He dresseth and feedeth. He inspireth and is generous throughout eternity.
Therefore know his enemies. Whatsoever is opposite, whatsoever is not so like minded cometh not of the LORD.
Chapter
10
THERE is no one decent like unto the LORD. He understandeth a matter and judgeth according to what is best for all. He compromiseth not, nor considereth his own estate.
To execute justice is the estate of the LORD, and to judge objectively is the way of equity.
Man judgeth for the moment. Yea, what suiteth him at a given time will his feet run after and his mind justify. Surely, he will cut his nose off to spite his face to command the moment.
There is no one who considereth your plight but the LORD, and there is no one who will judge fairly save he.
Man judgeth from his lusts and greed, whereas the LORD judgeth righteously. Who is any man unto the LORD that he should tilt the scales of his judgment and pervert his ways? There is none.
Mercy is above the law, and the LORD will abundantly pardon. Let thine heart be as the LORD’s: quick to forgive and quick to salve the wound.
But man’s mercy is whim. He considereth himself before extending mercy, and when it suiteth him he will grant it.
But the LORD hath pity on the contrite heart, and on the trembling he will remove their fear and give them peace.
The falsely accused may rest in the LORD, but man shall delight in bringing them to punishment. For expedience he will put him in punishment.
Man loveth a false report, and taketh delight in cruel irony; and to see justice perverted amuseth all such as these.
Chapter
11
CALLEST thou thy neighbor a mean, selfish skinflint and leavest it at that? But if he hath power over thee, thou shalt call him evil.
Know, my son, this truth once again, that selfishness empowered is evil. To draw unto thyself at the expense of others is evil. Evil heapeth to itself. It draweth out all good and noble things, and it withereth righteousness. Therefore avoid selfishness and thou shalt have peace.
Desire causeth contention. The less thou seekest of this world the more peace thou shalt have.
With God there is no such thing, and selfishness doth not come nigh unto him nor can it influence his thoughts. He is all things noble and wise. His judgment is not of whim, nor doth he consider what is in it for himself.
He commandeth not groveling, nor inspireth grief. His heart setteth one to learning, and his soul guideth thy path.
He is beauty beyond belief, nobility beyond measure. Graciousness formeth his countenance, and dignity moldeth his speech.
He breathed this within man, and there is no man ignorant of the divine nature. Without it man cannot thrive. But man prefereth the selfish. Whatsoever a man desireth he seeketh to get. He will not be circumspect.
Be thou circumspect, my son, and understand the meaning of this word: to look around oneself. See thyself in proportion to the greater scene. Ambition’s stepmother is circumspection. See where thou canst fit, see where thou canst exploit and build up the right way.
No man can walk rightly unless he knoweth himself in proportion to the greater affairs about him. He will judge foolishly, and in a tornado to will object to a burp.
Seek thou the greater good, the way of the LORD, and persevere to that point. The LORD shall reward thy labour, and thou shalt have praise of men.
But if thine eyes be on the end of thy nose thou shalt go nowhere and thou shalt heap upon thyself reviling and a shaking of heads.
See what is before and around thee, and the LORD shall lead thy paths. His words shall cause thee to learn and his spirit shall make thee circumspect. For knowledge of the LORD leadeth to humility, and without a humble heart can no man be circumspect.
The knowledge of God createth leadership, and it directeth thy ways. Thou shalt lead men and take them to the sweet waters of the LORD.
But man driveth men. It pleaseth the wicked to drive men brutishly to obey, and to cause men to shudder. The wicked must prove their superiority everyday, and it is to them their great weakness. Everything must fit this narrow purpose.
But to follow the LORD is to liberate, to educate, and to set men free upon the sure path.
Behold, I have seen an abomination and a gross disgust: a lackey and bootlick in power.
The LORD proclaimeth freedom, and he doth not bind men’s backs.
Chapter
12
THERE is nothing in the law of the LORD that is a burden unto the righteous. It is a burden only to the wicked. Laws are a burden only to those who are restrained thereby. Selfishness when empowered over thy life is wickedness, but goodness goeth abroad unto all men to relieve their burdens.
An even weight is prized by the LORD. But look at mankind about thee, my son, and marvel at his fads and fashion in judgment. To an aristocrat he will not bow, but if it be fashionable a scamp will he let tread over his face, and he will let him make his children a target, and for prey.
Oppression from on high is less than oppression from on low. A king shall have his way and a man shall grumble. But a thousand clerks shall be a worse burden, and grumbling will they punish. A king careth not how thou trimmest thy lawn, nor doth a tyrant consider the cutting of thy hedge.
But a clerk sniffeth about the brush. He overturneth thy stones. He shall count thy leaves.
Prefer that power should be lofty, that thou mayest live unnoticed. But when the servant sitteth the horse and thy neighbour is given power thy life shall be misery.
A maggot exalteth itself, but the eagle is unmoved. Majestically doth it keep to its ways and taketh it no notice. But the maggot seeth its own world. It dwelleth amongst the small and desireth the great. Yea, if it multiply it shall devour the greatest of beasts. Therefore, O foolish people, heap not power to your neighbour, else your whole nation shall be eaten up.
Behold I have seen great abomination, yea, a sore vexing: an underling is worse than a master, even as it is said amongst thy people.
The LORD protect thee from the mighty, but the LORD defend thee from the small.
See how the mother of the maggot flieth also. In all its glory it is no more than a fly, and its sound and fury is no more than a pestilent buzz.
Chapter
13
REJOICE in the LORD, for he is mighty. He shall cause them to tremble that afflict thee, and he shall give thee peace.
Thy bones shall not be picked by great or small; and by trivialities he will not bring thee to despair.
Look in the mirror and know of a certainty that God existeth. Stand in awe at thy hand, and know God fashioned a marvel.
Look at the pattern in nature, in all things male and female, and see the pattern: whether beans, plants, animals or man, see the pattern. Within flowers and buds, see the pattern and know that God created all things.
Yet alone of God’s creation did he breathe his spirit within man, that man might consider and learn; that man might not be as the beasts of the field, fulfilling a purpose for keeping the earth clean and cycled— but that man might consider.
Therefore, my son, thou knight of God, understand the purpose for life.
Chapter
14
PUT not God to the test, for the heathen seek proof of faith and shall go to great lengths to prove that God existeth.
Their faith is shaken and their ways passing upon the earth, for the LORD did not come when they called nor did he perform according to their wants.
But thou, my son, if thou goest to a desert, take thou water; if unto the wilds, take thou a weapon. Tie up thy horse and lock thy door. Put not the LORD thy God to the test.
But if thou shouldest be plunged into the wilds, or cast into the pit, know of a certainty that God is with thee, and he shall deliver thee. For thou didst not put him to the test, nor did thy faith need proof.
Behold an abomination: a man seeketh to have the better of his neighbour by bragging, and this guideth his actions and life. He hath no substance and his nose is his horizon.
Care not to best thy neighbour, nor let his possessions and position rule thy life.
Yea, there is a greater abomination: a Jew whose pride is in his heritage without thought of God.
My son, God chose thy father Abraham, and thy father Isaac was the seed of promise. Unto us he saw no good thing. But he commandeth us to responsibility.
The flesh can never please God. Think not thine heritage will boast before God. But be thou proud of God’s mercy upon thy family, for Hebrew was our surname, Chaldean our heritage, Jew our faith, and God our boast.
There are those who use God to brag of themselves, and to get the better of their neighbour. This is a sore displeasure to God. They boast of their heritage and they use it to feel better than their neighbour.
God delighteth not in the flesh, but committed unto us a purpose and a point for all the world, and there is not purpose outside the ways of God.
If he should make us a light, is its purpose not to vanquish darkness for the world? Is the purpose of a light not for the benefit of others? Is the purpose of the light to brag that it giveth light?
If it doth brag, is there any substance to it if what it is to draw be not worth bragging? God desireth that all men should come to the light.
Behold a great abomination: a man maketh levity of this light and saith too much can be made of a “light unto the world.”
Such a man knoweth not God, but useth him for a convenience for his own boasting of being a Jew. What is a Jew without God but an Hebrew? And what is an Hebrew without the covenant of God but a Chaldean? Therefore, O Jew, thou art nothing without God but a citizen of a far away and far distance past land. Make therefore God everything.
Chapter
15
SEE how the heathen magnify their prophets, and the Ishmaelite heapeth praise and blessings upon a dead man.
But those who follow the LORD shall worship him, and they shall sing his praises.
See all the gods, idols and philosophies of the nations, how they are uneven. But the ways of the LORD pierce the heart, and there is no conscience that doth not know to do right.
Idols are carried in festivals, yet they give no blessings. The poor remaineth and the wicked multiplieth. The wise of the nations think long and hard, but a matter is not accomplished. The god of their imagination fadeth when they find the grave. Their thoughts can not vanquish death.
They who follow the LORD shall not magnify his messengers. Yet blessed is the man whose feet bring glad tidings, and the mouth of him who turneth a man back unto God. Let them rejoice together, let the prophets and the people rejoice at the good news of our God.
The way of the LORD is set. And no prophet can unset it. The LORD spoke not in a secret place, nor spoke he his laws in rhyme and cipher.
But the LORD speaketh clear, and his voice resoundeth in the glory of his creation.
The mercies and goodness of the LORD are seen all the day long, and life is taken for granted; and the abundance of the earth, and the beauty of the heavens are the gift of God.
Ingenuity and intelligence, an enquiring mind, are blessings of the LORD. The LORD is wise, adventurous yet steadfast, brilliant and peaceable.
Take thou nothing for granted, and wait not until thy loved-one dieth before thy heart falleth to think what thou hadst.
But if this should happen, incline thine heart then and consider all that God hath given thee. Then thou shalt be humble and know God is good.
For this reason he endureth sin, that he might be parted from us; that a man might yearn for him again; so that we might not take him who is holy beyond belief for granted. For this reason we have borne being outcasts, that the day he came unto man might never be passed over. For great is the day that the LORD walked amongst his creation.
Therefore take him not for granted. He shall teach thee the ways of heaven, but the world shall teach thee the ways of the world, hard ways of the world that thou mightest know not to take him for granted.
Oh, to hear him speak clearly again! Oh, to be satisfied by the presence of my lover! His words gush forth his heart; and they restore life unto our hearts.
All that a man possesseth is of the LORD. Even the heathen know good and evil because God hath breathed his spirit and made man a living soul.
The gift of the hands is a special gift from the LORD. To fashion and create, to place before all an expression of intelligence and wisdom is the character of God himself.
Create not base things, but edify and establish. Ennoble and teach with all the works of thine hands.
Chapter
16
KNOW again of a certainty, my son, that a prophet knoweth the will of God. When he speaketh, it is the word of God. Therefore take thou up the Spirit of the LORD that thy heart shall be after his own heart; that thou mayest walk in the thoughts of God after him.
As thou knowest thine own parents, what they shall or shall not do, given this or that, so know thou the ways of the LORD, what he shall and shall not do, given this or that.
Know the nature of him who is all things noble, virtuous and heroic. He conquereth the hearts of men and bringeth conquerors to the dust.
Walk aside his chariot and be awed at thy father. Boast of him and brag of the LORD. Thou wilt never be shamed, nor any of thy boastings shall fall short.
Despise thou not a preacher, but think thou not as one. For a prophet must declare the will of God; and it is a terrible thing to speak in the name of the LORD.
For God shall speak through thee, and as a prophet thou must declare his will.
Be thou no seer. For they see and who can tell it until it cometh to pass? But be thou prophet, for the will of God be sure, thou shalt declare it, and it shall come to pass.
A seer but seeth, but a prophet goeth first into the future and his steps are guided by the LORD.
A seer seeth, they see but a moment . . .but thou, O prophet, knowest the sure will of the LORD. His words shall stand forever, and thou shalt declare them to all generations.
A seer seeth, but which of them can direct the path? But men shall sit before thee and enquire of the will of the LORD; thou shalt declare unto them, and the LORD shall speak through his servants. Therefore, my son, it is a terrible thing to declare the will of God.
The LORD speaketh through no seer, and their glimpse is but a teardrop in a lake. But declare thou the LORD, and he shall divide the waters and shod thy feet.
Chapter
17
BE not an underling, for no such shall speak in the name of the LORD that it should come to pass. See what small things they make into great matters, that they may look and feel the more important.
They magnify all they do, and through them wisdom is lost to vanity of the moment. The proportion of things is lost, and affliction followeth them.
Beware how thou insultest an underling. A master shall forebear, having substance, but the underling hath only reflected glory. Insult his master and make him look as nothing and the master shall forebear, but the underling shall be enraged; for thine insult hath cast him from being the disciple to brilliance and made him the lackey to a fool.
Be therefore not flattered by the praise of fools, nor seek the adulation of the people. But declare thou the will of the LORD and his righteousness.
The LORD’s tidings are gladness and joy unto them that love him. But the wicked will seek to magnify his own estate and will despise the teachings of the LORD.
The righteous do not magnify man. Nor do they give place to the glory of mankind. But they teach righteousness and goodness.
An underling merely looketh at the authority and considereth not the righteousness of the edicts. He glorifieth according to those who have rule over him and over others. He is an hireling, and the LORD entrusteth not his words to an hireling.
Be thou not this thing, for of this cometh ignorance and false dogma. Be thou not an underling and glorifiest not that which happeneth merely because it happeneth. Say not “It is the LORD’s will” because it happeneth.
The will of the LORD is plainly declared, and his words have gone forth. Declare thou this, O prophet, and glorify not that which merely happeneth. As a blessing do the ignorant glorify all that happeneth, for they know not the laws of God, his sore displeasure, and his terrible rebuke.
Blame not the LORD for the bad and compliment thyself for the good; for all goodness cometh from God.
A soldier doth not magnify himself against his commander, but obeyeth all he is told. So is he who followeth the LORD. Thou hast done what thou wast told, and of thyself thou hast learned nothing. God teacheth and maketh wise. He enliveneth and causeth one to consider the right way.
A soldier doth not that except which he is taught. Therefore thinketh he not that he shall receive a reward for obeying orders.
Seek not a reward from the LORD, for he doth not bargain; but rather serve him as his own child, and delight in his ways.
Consider thyself carefully, that thou not be an underling in mind about that which is established today. Say not it is the LORD’s will because a tradition is established. Tradition is the will of God only to those who have no faith.
Chapter
18
CONSIDER tradition to be complacency, and thou wilt be cautious in thy ways and wary to declare “Thus saith the LORD” merely because it hath been the custom to so regard times and seasons.
A parrot maketh a sound. He imitateth a man. He resteth upon the shoulder and hath the best of the ear. But though he mimic, his sound is not exactly the same. It is mindless repetition, and in the end he messeth up his master’s back.
Be thou not a justifier of tradition, nor hearken to a lackey. But take hold of the word of the LORD. Man maketh tradition, but the LORD maketh the paths of righteousness.
Consider for 1000 years thy fathers kept not to the feasts and the commandments. From Joshua, the son of Nun, to Ezra kept they not to all the commands wherein Moses commanded them in the name of the LORD.
They declared not that this was the will of God, but rejoiced at their turning.
Yet consider a wonder: David’s heart was after God’s own heart, though he kept not all the rituals.
Seek thou the mercies of David. Love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and he shall cover a multitude of sins.
Chapter
19
BE not fooled; no man loveth God and calleth him a liar. But be not as the Gentiles which proclaim “believe and be saved,” for they know not what they say.
Devils believe, and yet people do not consider that belief is not righteousness without obedience. Demons, yea, believe God is, but they love him not nor his ways; and they shall see the abyss in the end and never come forth again.
Love God. Know of a certainty his words are true; that he came amongst us in the flesh as he foretold. He humbled himself and looked out upon us as one of us. For so he said he would.
Confess this and love not God and thou shalt perish. Believe this because thou lovest God and thou shalt live forever more.
Be not dismayed at thy people; lament their jealousy, for it is a poor substitute upon which to be motivated.
No man can kill the spirit, and if God should come in the flesh no man can destroy his spirit.
Thy people make bold their teachings and set them to any number of tunes, but hold thou fast to the words of the LORD. God spoke to Moses and the prophets are true.
But thy people’s doctrines mock the power of God, for they say he cannot come in the flesh.
Jealously and envy are their motives. Incline not to the wisdom of the jealous or to those whose lives are motivated by wanting to be different or opposite. Incline thine ear to truth. Know that God cannot be limited, and know that no one’s soul hath ever gone into oblivion.
Of a certainty thou shalt be raised from the dead, and with thine own eyes thou shalt behold God. With what flesh thou dwellest in thou shalt dwell in for eternity, for the works of the LORD’s hands are good, and he doeth nothing in vain.
Behold the marvel of creation and know that the LORD shall not cause a flower to fail, a bud to disappear, nor grass to cease.
Behold, he createth all things anew. Sin shall be no more. Thou shalt breathe air and feel sun for days without end. Thou shalt rise up and sleep with the LORD. Thou shalt eat and thou shalt drink the new wine with the LORD.
In that body thou shalt see him and thou shalt dwell with him forevermore. Many adventures shalt thou have. Many worlds thou shalt see. In that body thou shalt see God and live, and thine eyes shall see beauty.
But with thine eyes thou shalt not see God as he is. Therefore understand why he came and walked amongst us as we are.
No creature, my son, yea, not the angels of heaven, have seen God as he is. There can no creature endure the glory of God as he is.
Therewith understand why God created the world, that thou mayest learn of him by faith. By thine eyes thou shalt see many events, but by faith thou shalt learn meaning.
What thou knowest here, thou shalt know in the world to come. Faces thou shalt recognize and people shalt thou greet, for the LORD doeth nothing in vain.
Chapter
21
CONSIDER the foolish ways of some who teach they shall not remember. How vain they make the works of God and how they bring his mighty handiwork to nought!
Lay it to heart once again that thy father Adam and thy mother Life knew not God. He was a pleasant voice, a kindly spirit.
But when they sinned, knew they his wrath when they were cast out. Knew they his mercy when he slew the animals to cover them; knew they his holiness when they could no longer dwell with him.
Yea, thy God is holy, and to be sought above all things. To have him is to have everything, and to never want.
Therein is the reason all things were made, for Adam and Life knew not God until they lived apart from him. Seven times Israel sinned, and seven times they cried unto the LORD; and seven times he delivered them.
He came in the flesh and showed himself openly by sacrifice. This was the reason for creation, my son, otherwise thou wouldest be a dumb beast knowing not God.
This thou shalt always know. Thou shalt remember thy life for eternity, and never cease to learn of the LORD.
No man was placed upon this Earth in vain. Thou shalt remember the days of thine instruction on Earth, and thou shalt understand why these things were so.
When thou art raised from the dead, my son, for surely God shall raise thee up again, thou shalt praise the LORD. How canst thou praise him if thou understandest not that thou wast raised from the dead?
Thou shalt know, and thou shalt not grieve. But thou shalt sing the louder at the glory of God.
Chapter
22
THEREFORE when thou art grown speak unto this people and declare: Thus saith the LORD God, turn ye from your sins. Every man believe and do justice. Right the scales and balance them, and love thy neighbour as thyself. Cast off the idols of your minds, and eat the words of the LORD as if honey.
If they shall not hear thee, it be upon them. But if they say, “Surely God hath raised up a prophet unto us again,” rejoice in the LORD that he arrayed thee and sent thee into battle to fight the good fight, thou knight of God.
For surely I come, saith the LORD, to judge the dead and the living, and there is no soul that by his own works shall endure the day of the LORD.
Seek thou mercy, and seek it quick. Set it as the sight before thine eyes. Impart mercy, and it shall always be before thee; and thou shalt obtain mercy.
Rejoice, thou knight of God. Let this people worship him and straighten their paths upon his word. He hath redeemed my body and taught me the reason for life; that man might learn of him and then live forevermore. Rejoice, O children of Israel, thy God is the only God. Rejoice, O ye nations, for there is no God but the LORD.
Come together before the LORD, at the reading of his laws say “We will do it.”
Yea, LORD, come. Send thy servant before thy face.
Chapter
23
SMITE thou the ground and I shall raise up prophets as the dust to afflict this generation. Look up Israel, look up, behold the latter rain as before, saith the LORD. Look up and feel the steady rain. Lift up the head of Israel, remove thou the plate. Hear the child cry from afar: The miracles of our God, the miracles of our God— a child is cleansed; a maiden is raised from the dead; a man without legs walketh. Behold again in the name of Jesus Christ this is done in Israel. Look up, O Israel, believe and greet thy redeemer as he cometh.
Send my knights before my face. Go, thy God cometh. I stand upon Zion and brace my scepter in the mount. I am thy great general and thy exceeding great hero.
And the LORD said unto me, How long did I wrest thee from the Gentiles and take thee unto thy people which thou knewest not?
And I said “40 years.”
So shall I turn Israel.
Yea, LORD, come. Blessed be the name of the LORD. I say ye, Blessed is he who cometh in the name of the LORD.
