Nabion has nothing to do with evangelical bible prophecy or any denomination.

Modern Prophecy

       The prophecies
                 of
   Jochanan ben Kathryn

             Nabion

Although a Jewish site, the word of the LORD is for everyone. God speaks through a true prophet in order to prepare his people for events to come and to turn them from their sinful ways when they have gone astray. Please read these introductory pages so that you understand the context of actual prophecy.

What is the Canon of this site?

Scriptural quotations on this site are taken from the Hebrew Bible, the Codex Leningradis, its English translation called The King James Version, the texts of the Holy Scriptures found at Qumran, the Septuagint (most often Codex Vaticanus), and shall be taken from the Aleppo Codex and variant Masoretic Groups, or a conflation of them all. It will not always be stated from which the quotation is coming.  This will merely make the reader search them out to determine this, which frankly you should be doing anyway.

It is required that one “compare scripture with scripture” so that every word may be established. While this has taken on a novel meaning amongst  evangelicals, such as compare a verse, which may be half a sentence, to a verse spoken a thousand years later, and which may also be half a sentence, it carries here the original Jewish meaning: “compare the texts with the texts.” This is done to make sure that no scribal error has been entered in as God’s word. Also, it helps to understand if an idiom has lost its meaning, and scribes had to correct it for contemporary reading at one point (or in the margin), etc. Ancient Greek translations are particularly useful for that. All believers are encouraged with the utmost vigor to have all these copies in their house.

Therefore the particular authority or “Canon” of Nabion is the Tanakh, with reservations accorded to the Canticles. No particular textual tradition is enforced. A true prophet is obliged to uphold what is written therein rather than making the compilation of books into an idol. God spoke to Moses, and he spoke through the Prophets. They are true. If there are errors in a particular transcription, others can be easily consulted to determine the correct reading. True prophetic utterances are determined by the method outlined therein: what is spoken in the name of the LORD comes to pass, or that he speaks according to the Law and Testimony. There is no other standard. And man may not adjust the standards of God by usage or tradition. First and foremost a prophet upholds the will of God. He is God’s direct servant, and he cannot command in contrary to the Law and Testimony. (He often cannot command, period.) He must relate the will of God. God honors his word and never relents. What is contained in Moses and the Prophets is of God, and it shall stand forever. There is no “but.” Certain writings at Qumran confirm the existence of prophetic writing which came to pass, and therefore certain regard must be held for the Simultudes and other writings. Therefore the “Canon” of this site is near identical to that of Jews of the Second Temple Period, and the standard for judging any further revelation is contained within these books.

This is obviously a Jewish site. God’s spirit will move whom he will move, but historically and traditionally major prophets have only been Jews. No nonbeliever in the words of God can be a prophet. And the prophets confirm that God would come and walk among us through “that prophet” at a particular time and speak plain unto us. This is Jesus the Christ (See Men and Brethren). Matthew 5: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Christ destroyed the “curse of the law” (See the fallacy of Supersessionism) so that failure cannot accuse us anymore, so that those who believe shall live by the law because of their love for God and not from fear or compulsion. God seeks the heart.

God is not an egg. He is not an apple. There are not three parts to him. The LORD is ONE GOD. (See The Shema)

Part of the purpose of Nabion is not to remove the revulsion the basic Jew has about corporate Christianity but, unfortunately, to confirm that much of this revulsion is justified, so that the Jew can help reform it. A prophet may not start movements or denominations. He is mostly a rogue, who serves God directly. He will also not allow others to use the words given him to start their own divergent movements. The Jewish believer is not to forsake his people or the synagogue (unless ejected). If there is a Nazarene (Christian Jewish) synagogue, so much the better (hopefully). The Hasidic Movement once suffered mass excommunication. As a result many independent synagogues were formed. Hasidism remained a part of Judaism because it did not become gentilized. There is no reason for the Nazarene to become gentilized. Either he should remain or be a part of a Christian Jewish synagogue. (See Eighteen Benedictions) All non-Jews are encourage to seek out such synagogues as well.

Equally obvious, taking into account all of the above, the New Testament cannot be held as equal, in the sense of being the word of God. Most is not spoken in the name of the LORD, and most is not prophetic. Some is pesher. Most is nothing more than teachings for the Gentiles based on Scripture (which they didn’t know), encouraging them to walk a godly life and cautioning against Gnosticism and other evils. Nabion acknowledges that the New Testament Canon has almost always been in dispute since the 2nd century, and particularly during the Reformation (16th century). Nabion asserts vehemently that salvation (inheritance of the resurrection) is not dependent on what Canon is confessed. The original Nazarenes would not even accept other gospels outside of their Hebrew version of “Matthew.” (See Nazarenes) A prophet is obliged to uphold the words of Christ.

The apostles ingrained upon their subordinates and successors that the Scripture alone was to be used for doctrine and training in righteousness. Scripture had one meaning: the Hebrew writings. This is confirmed even as late as the Muratorian Canon of around 200 AD, a list of the books being used at Rome. It is still divided by 3 parts: Scripture, Gospels, and Apostles (epistolary corpus). This division shall be maintained on Nabion. The words of Christ are the words of the LORD: the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, the surviving patristic notes regarding the Gospel of the Hebrews (apparently a Jewish gospel similar enough to Matthew to be confused with its original Hebrew), with reservations the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of John. No New Testament book is discouraged to be diligently read for inspiration and guidance (as a sort of Mishnah Torah on the Scripture). But no prophetic value or doctrinal value will be placed upon them outside of the words of Christ or those spoken in the name of the LORD.

Therewith the standard of the Reformers of Christianity shall also be upheld: Calvin, Luther, Bodenstein, Zwingli, Oecolampadius. Each stressed a certain individuality in accepting certain contested  (and uncontested) New Testament books. It is for the Christian to dispute certain books. Salvation is not dependent upon confessing a canon, nor, as the Reformers insisted, can the councils of men decree the words of God. (See Canon of the New Testament).

Salvation is by the grace of Almighty God, not by the appearance of keeping the laws, nor by rituals. It is revealed by faith. Nothing shall ever and can ever surpass the greatest commandment: “Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul, all thy mind, and all thy strength. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” No one loves God and calls him a liar. God does not speak out of the corner of his mouth one way to Gentiles and one way to Jews. (See One Covenant). If one does not hearken unto “that prophet,” God will require it of him. “It is too small a thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light of the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the Earth.” (Isaiah 49:6). “I will declare the decree: The LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the Gentiles for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” (Psalm 2: 7&8). Nabion shall show that “that Prophet” came and was Emmanuel — God with Us— that the Jew may believe and begin the reformation of Christianity. (See Supersessionism).

This site shall maintain the supremacy of Judaism as given to Abraham, supported by Moses, confirmed by the prophets, and fulfilled by Christ. Any deviation from that point shall be confronted here. James the Just: (Acts 15) “Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God. But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren.” They carried with them these instructions, and these instructions are good. Judaizing will not be tolerated as a condition of salvation. However, Moses and the law and the prophets are still preached from the synagogues every Sabbath day and, as James encouraged and the elders agreed, Judaism shall be strongly encouraged. However, Paul’s attempts to enforce Hasidism on Gentiles shall not be tolerated. A woman does not have to keep herself covered physically, but they should not be allowed to have any authority over a man in the congregation.

This site is vehemently opposed to any form of Gnosticism, ancient or modern: Mormonism, Pentecostalism, Campingism; and their extractions: Trinity, Quartinity, Trans-substantiation, and apocalypticism, etc. It is opposed to the metaphysical, metaphorical and allegorical use of Scripture. Pharisaical methodology, whether Jewish or the rampant Christian Phariseeism, is not used or endorsed. Any derivation of laws from Scripture are those indicated only by Situational Precedence and extrapolation from a law intentionally given as a Base Minimum. (See Legal Method.)

Although thousands of true believers may exist within Catholicism, as an institution it is regarded here as a pagan idolatrous religion. This regard of paganism is not extended to the level of prelates and other clerics who, on the whole, have never condoned or encouraged the use of penates and other idolatry, prayers to saints and the “Virgin Mary.” They merely had to tolerate it based on the large number of pagans entering the Church after Constantine legalized Christianity. At best, they could only “christianized” Roman Religion. However, Roman Catholicism is regarded here as the Christian version of ancient and corrupt Israel that mixed the holy things of God with the idols and groves of the Canaanites around them. As no one could call that the religion of God, so can no one call Catholicism true Christianity.

The practice of some Hasids to pray to their dead Rebbe is regarded here as heresy.

As the house of prophets, Nabion shall uphold the Scripture. No human has the authority to alter scripture, either by interpretation or usage in order to make his doctrine equal with God’s oracles. Tradition is neither the will nor word of God, and will not be regarded as an interpretive force. Nabion does not condemn tradition unless it seeks supremacy over the oracles of God. Pesherism is not to be equated with the words of God.
